Transitioning a Child with Special Needs Back to School

The phrase “back to school” inspires both joy and trepidation. When a student has special needs, those emotions are magnified and the checklists are multiplied. There’s nothing simple about t...

The Addycase has been wonderful. Completely rubber, with handle & blocks the home button, she has dropped it, stood on it & slammed it on the wall. http://addycase.com/

They just got more in stock today. Ordered mine, waiting for it with excitement. Why doesn’t anyone else make an affordable cover that blocks the home button?

Here are just a few of the cases I think you should add (just those that come to mind at this moment). The Fisher-Price case for young kids. The Clutch from Happy Owl Studios. This second one isn’t a child proof case so much as it is a really nice case/purse that would be perfect for an older girl who had to carry her iPad with her always as a communication device. It isn’t the biggest of purses (definitely not mom sized, no room for diapers, reusable shopping bags, or other bulky items), but it is a great size for carrying the basics like lipstick, drivers license, keys, cellphone, and other can’t do without items. It would be a suitable way to take the iPad on a date, to school, to church, or anywhere that isn’t rough a dirty.

what about the one from fisher price?

This is a great summary – thank you. I personally have tried the iBallz and Big Grips and they work very well. We recently received a Trident Kraken as a gift so we will be putting that through its paces. One useful point to note when reviewing cases for special needs children is whether or not they contain latex. I believe the Gumdrop case does but I’m not sure about the others.

I prefer the griffin survivor and the kraken trident because of their integrated screens personally but have just been told the new otterbox defenders now have them as well.  My kids are not allowed near the ipad without the case on! I think I would have a nervous breakdown using the iballz  with a thrower!

this is v useful.  Thankyou!  One of our netbuddies reviewed the iBallz case.  See here:
