The Shay Ziff Sends a Kid to Camp Scholarship Fund
In honor of Shay Ziff, of blessed memory
Shay Ziff, of blessed memory, loved Friendship Circle Summer Camp. She was a camper who embraced everything camp had to offer, the friendships, the fun, and the sense of belonging that makes our camp so special.
Shay's family established this scholarship fund in her honor so that other children could experience the joy she felt every summer. It is their wish that every child who wants to come to camp has the chance to do so.
At Friendship Circle Summer Camp, children with special needs get to enjoy all the fun of summer — just like their peers. Our camp is built on friendship. Every camper is paired with a dedicated teen volunteer, and the one-on-one connections formed through that pairing are what make our camp truly unique.
The friendships that start at camp don't end when summer does. Campers and volunteers often carry those bonds with them for years, sometimes for life. To every family, that connection is priceless.
About the Scholarship
Friendship Circle believes every child should have the opportunity to attend summer camp, regardless of their family's financial situation. The Shay Ziff Scholarship Fund is one of the ways we make that possible. Shay's family personally reviews each application and selects the recipients — a meaningful way they continue to honor her memory each year.
The scholarship fund is sponsored by Shay's grandparents, Dr. Stanley and Lenore Dorfman, and her mother, Lisa Ziff.
