Fall Session

Sunday Sports takes place on designated Sundays and will include instruction, and participation, in multiple sports. It is a great opportunity to get exercise, embrace teamwork and to just have fun.

Music Therapy

Interactive music is a great social option for anyone with musical leanings. Participants enjoy movement, rhythm, singing, games and sound making throughout the program. Participants will practice collaboration, taking turns and sharing, all while making friends.

Winter Cooking Class

Our Monday Evening cooking program invites future chefs to join us at the Aish building (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park) for a facilitated discussion on manners, healthy foods, and preparing food in a fun cooking class environment with their one-on-one volunteer. Over the course of the program, participants try new foods, learn food safety and prepare simple dishes that can be re-created at home.

Zumba Class

Fun, energetic and good for you, our Zumba class will get girls moving with kid-friendly routines inspired by original Zumba. This class will make fitness fun and help to encourage an overall healthy lifestyle.

Life Skills @ Weinberg Village

Join us on designated Wednesdays for Life Skills in the state of the art Weinberg Village inside the FC building of WB. This unique program offers the excitement and fun of the village as well as serious life skill development. Life Skills gives participants the opportunity to practice life skills in a realistic, safe, and controlled environment of our own little village. Focus areas for the village include street safety, money skills, personal responsibility, and inter/intra personal communication skills. Location specific goals include things such as visiting the doctor or getting a haircut in the salon. This unique program offers the excitement and fun of the village as well as serious life skill development. Transportation to West Bloomfield will be available from Oak park. We depart from Aish (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park) at 4:45pm. We return to Aish at 7:00pm.

Shabbos Party

Join us every Shabbos for an afternoon gathering of socializing, songs, games and enjoy a light meal and Shabbos treats. Shabbos Party takes place year round at the Shemtov’s home (14201 Vernon, Oak Park). We will meet for an hour and a half. Times vary due to daylight savings.

Thanksgiving Respite

Location: Meer Center at the Friendship Circle, 6892 West Maple Rd (transportation from Oak Park provided, see details below).
Transportation: Meet at 9:15 am at the Aish Building (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park). Arrives back at 1:30 pm.

While schools are closed and the dishes are dirty, Friendship Circle offers a three hour respite style program for participants to enjoy some time out of the house following Thanksgiving Day. Participants will utilize the Bauer Activity Wing, lunch PLUS a special show!

Friendship Circle provides a fun-filled week with enjoyable and educational trips around Metro Detroit while school is closed. During this week on the town, campers and their volunteers build friendships and connections to last a lifetime! Campers may be registered for individual days or the entire camp to ensure the best-fit schedule for your busy winter break!

  • Date: Dec 23 – Dec 27
  • Fee: $375 for the week, $75/day

Martin Luther King Day Respite

Our MLK Day Camp provides a full day of activities for participants to keep busy while school is out! We will enjoy a field trip in the Metro Detroit community for a day of adventure, social opportunities and fun!

Mid-Winter Break Overnight Camp

Location: BBYO Bittker Center

Campers are invited to join the Friendship Circle in a fun-filled overnight camp while school is closed for Mid-Winter Break. Campers will have the opportunity to engage in winter-themed activities such as sledding, building snowmen and drinking cocoa while enjoying the experience of sleeping in a cabin with all of their friends. During camp, we will venture out on the town for an exciting day trip!

The [email protected] program provides children with the chance to bond with their volunteers in an environment they are most comfortable in– their own homes. A teen FC volunteer will visit with your child. Together, they play games, create arts ‘n crafts, read books or anything fun!
