The Dakota Bakery Trainee Program provides individuals with special needs the opportunity to work in an active bakery environment. Trainees are hired by the bakery as paid employees and receive on-the-job coaching and vocational training. Trainees learn from the staff with support from a job coach as needed. While on the job they develop and build strategies that allow them to be successful in the workplace, including social skills, work-related anxiety, planning and organizational skills, and functional job skills. Trainees that graduate from the program will be able to transfer their skills to a variety of workplaces to become successful employees.

We’re passionate about what we make, which is why our ingredients are the best and freshest available. And the care we take comes out of our joy in making and serving great food along with our mission of inclusion.

But our challah is special. In traditional Jewish life—weddings, B’nai Mitzvahs, Shabbats, and holidays— no other food plays such a widely important role. And no one makes a better challah than Dakota Bakery. 

Our challah is available in one or two-pound sizes, and for special events we offer challah in 3 to 6 pounds.

Additionally, you can make your child’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah even more memorable by having him or her braid the challah!
