Welcome to Friendship Circle of Oak Park. At friendship Circle we understand that your child is a very special and precious individual. Our goal is to provide an environment where your child will be appreciated, included and loved. We invite you to join us for bi weekly professional programs and more.

Cooking Class

Our Monday Evening cooking program invites future chefs to join us at the Aish building (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park) for a facilitated discussion on manners, healthy foods, and preparing food in a fun cooking class environment with their one-on-one volunteer. Over the course of the program, participants try new foods, learn food safety and prepare simple dishes that can be re-created at home.

  • Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Fall Session: Nov 6, 10, 13, 20, 27; Dec 4, 11
  • Spring Session: Apr 16, 23, 30; May 7, 14, 28
  • Fee: $60.00 per session

Intro to Art @ Dresner Soul Studio

Art class takes place on designated Mondays in the state of the art Dresner Soul Studio inside Friendship Circle’s Farber Center of WB. Participants will have the opportunity to explore fine art mediums under the guidance of Brian Kavanaugh, the Art Programs Director for the Farber Center. Mediums include drawing, painting, paper mache, textiles and more. Transportation to the art Studio will be available from Oak park. We depart from Aish (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park) at 5:00pm. We return to Aish at 7:00pm.

Life Skills @ Weinberg Village

Join us on designated Wednesdays for Life Skills in the state of the art Weinberg Village inside the FC building of WB. This unique program offers the excitement and fun of the village as well as serious life skill development. Life Skills gives participants the opportunity to practice life skills in a realistic, safe, and controlled environment of our own little village. Focus areas for the village include street safety, money skills, personal responsibility, and inter/intra personal communication skills. Location specific goals include things such as visiting the doctor or getting a haircut in the salon. This unique program offers the excitement and fun of the village as well as serious life skill development. Transportation to West Bloomfield will be available from Oak park. We depart from Aish (25725 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park) at 5:00pm. We return to Aish at 7:00pm.

The [email protected] program provides children with the chance to bond with their volunteers in an environment they are most comfortable in– their own homes. A teen FC volunteer will visit with your child. Together, they play games, create arts ‘n crafts, read books or anything fun!
