Friendship Circle Director named to the “Forward 50”

Bassie Shemtov on of the Forward 50
Each year, The Jewish Daily Forward awards 50 individuals throughout America with a spot in the “Forward 50.” These individuals represent Jewish Americans that have been influential news makers throughout the year.

This week, Friendship Circle received news that Bassie Shemtov, the co-founder and Director of Friendship Circle, was chosen to receive this prestigious recognition for leading Friendship Circle from a single chapter in Michigan to a nationwide movement.

Joining Bassie on the Forward 50 list is Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, TV star Lena Dunham and singer Barbra Streisand.

When asked how it feels to receive this national recognition, Bassie Shemtov states, “I am deeply humbled by this recognition and look forward to the awareness it will bring to the cause we care so deeply about here at Friendship Circle.”
